Toby D. Ahrens

Toby worked in the laboratory from 1997 through 1999, during which time he worked extensively in the field, especially on Cape Cod, MA. Toby completed an Honor's Thesis which was revised for publication:

Ahrens, T.D. and P.A. Siver. 2000. Trophic conditions and water chemistry of lakes on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, USA. Lake and Reservoir Management 16(4): 268-280.

In addition, Toby was a co-author on a paper published in the Proceedings from the Seventeenth International Diatom Symposium in 2002 entitled: "The ecology of diatoms in ponds and lakes on the Cape Cod pennisula, Massachusetts, U.S.A., with special reference to pH.

After graduation from Connecticut College, Toby accepted a research position at The Ecosystem Center, Marine Biological Laboratory, Woods Hole, MA. Toby received his Ph.D at Stanford University's Department of Geological and Environmental Sciences and has recently moved back to the East coast.
