Ulothrix Kützing
From Greek oulos, "wooly" + thrix, "hair"

As the focus changes, notice how the chloroplasts
cover the side, top, and bottom cell surfaces.

Unbranched Ulothrix filaments have cylindrical
or occasionally rounded cells with thin or thick cell walls in H-shaped pieces. Much of each cell is covered by a single, lobed parietal, band-like chloroplast with several pyrenoids. Basal rhizoidal cells or a series of rhizoids from other cells can attach the filaments to the substrate.
