Eudorina
Each cell in the colony enlarges and subsequently divides 4 or 5 times into daughter colonies with
the same number of cells as the parent. Sometimes 4 of the anterior cells do not divide, which may
be an evolutionary link to the cell specialization seen in the larger Volvox colonies where only the posterior cells reproduce. During anisogamous sexual reproduction, male colonies release packets
of sperm cells that unite with female colonies to form zygotes which germinate via meiosis.
